The Gene Therapy Center of the University of Massachusetts Medical School invites applications for postdoctoral researcher positions. The research project focuses on using AAV vectors for gene therapy of neurological disorders.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Applicants should have a PhD in the biomedical sciences or an MD with post graduate scientific training and three to five years of research experience in the fields of neuroscience, molecular biology, animal modeling, and gene therapy for CNS disorders. Applicants with strong skills and track records in performing in vivo CNS gene transfer studies, assessing neuropathology, motor and cognitive functions, CNS tissue processing, immunohistochemical staining, conventional, and confocal microscopic analyses are preferred. Ability to work independently and coordinate different projects and activities concurrently, as well as strong writing, verbal and interpersonal skills are required. Candidates should be highly organized, hard-working and motivated to respond to the changes within the rapidly evolving field of CNS gene therapy research.
