POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW IN EFFECTS of EARLY SCHOOLING Full-Time 12-Month Position The School of Social and Family Dynamics (http://ssfd.clas.asu.edu) invites applications for a full-time 12-month Post-Doctoral Research Fellow starting August 15, 2013 (for two years with a third year possible). For this position, successful candidates must have a PhD or equivalent in child development, psychology, education, sociology, or related field by time of appointment. This position entails working with faculty and graduate students in ongoing multidisciplinary projects related to early schooling and its short- and long-term effects (http://kindergartenproject.org). Responsibilities include managing and analyzing existing cross-sectional and longitudinal data sets focused on academic achievement and classroom and family relationships, helping with ongoing data collection efforts, supervising related research activities, and writing collaborative manuscripts.

The successful candidate must have evidence of expertise in children’s early schooling and its effects, and experience in working with and analyzing large data sets. Candidates must also have considerable expertise in working with the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study-Kindergarten (ECLS-K) national data sets and must be able to appropriately be involved in analyses, papers, and training workshops related to this national data set.
