We are hiring one or two post-doctoral fellows for NIH-funded programs involving novel genetic therapies for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. The ideal candidate will have experience using computer-driven operant chambers to control experiments and collect data. The ability to work with large data sets and write clearly is critical. Other techniques in the lab include PCR, western, ELISA, stereotactic surgery, immunohistochemistry, light/confocal/electron microscopy, unbiased stereology, and a range of behavioral tests to assess sensorimotor function, anxiety, and cognition in mice. Candidates are not expected to have experience in all these things, but the ability to write and implement programs to control operant chambers is important. Send CV to Mike McDonald, PhD, by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or to 855 Monroe Ave., 415 Link Bldg., Memphis, TN. I will send instructions on how to submit reference letters to those whose applications are being considered further. For more information send email or phone 901-448-4648.
