Postdoctoral Psychology Position in Family Medicine

The Deaconess Family Medicine Residency Program (DFMR) in Evansville, Indiana offers a Postdoctoral Residency position for individuals interested in providing integrated behavioral health and psychological assessment and treatment services. The Residency serves a diverse and underserved population of individuals across the lifespan. Culturally sensitive services are provided to patients of the Residency and include opportunities for behavioral medicine, diagnostic evaluation, psychological testing, individual psychotherapy, group programs, and integrated behavioral health psychology services. Opportunities for consultation, research and program development are also available to the motivated resident.

Under weekly supervision with a licensed clinical psychologist (Indiana HSPP), the Postdoctoral Resident is given the opportunity to develop skills toward independent psychology practice and licensure. DFMR integrates a variety of psychological assessment techniques and evidence-based treatment interventions. While the Residency serves patients across the lifespan, a strong emphasis on childhood developmental and neuropsychological testing services is offered. The Postdoctoral Resident is engaged in developing and delivering individualized treatment approaches for patients in a highly collaborative team environment alongside primary care medical residents. Postdoctoral Psychology Residents will co-train with Family Medicine Residents and work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including nursing, health coaches, and social workers, to provide the best care to patients.

DFMR is committed to the training of high-quality health practitioners within the context of the 4,000+ employee Deaconess Health System. As such, the Postdoctoral Resident will have extensive opportunities for participation in didactic learning, system-sponsored conferences, intensive case conferences, and access to the medical resource library.

This 12-month position may be renewed for an additional 12-month cycle. Qualifications required include:

• A doctoral degree (Ph.D./Psy.D.) from an APA-Accredited program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.

• Successful completion of an APA-accredited or APPIC-member internship.
