The psychology postdoctoral residency program at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial (ENRM) Veterans Affairs Medical Center, located in Bedford, MA, is offering an APA-accredited residency program in General Clinical Psychology with a special emphasis on Smoking Cessation.

The resident has multidisciplinary responsibilities in the integration of mental health and tobacco treatment. The resident’s clinical work primarily involves delivery of tailored tobacco cessation services for Veterans with comorbid psychiatric disorders. In addition, he or she will have the opportunity to engage in program development and research, with a focus on acceptance and mindfulness-based tobacco cessation treatments (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and organizational change for addressing tobacco use.

All residency training involves an integration of professional activity and training from four primary domains: clinical; program development and administration; supervision and teaching; and research and program evaluation. Residents are actively involved in work within each of these domains. Residents are afforded considerable flexibility regarding training experiences and clinical focus within each of the four domains.

We will continue to review applications until the position is filled (for the fall of 2014). Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their materials soon.
