The Counseling Center at Hamilton College is searching for a 10-month Postdoctoral Fellow for the 2014-2015 academic year. Responsibilities include: providing individual psychotherapy to undergraduate students, keeping timely records of clinical and other activities, participating in after-hours on-call rotation within a staff of four, and participating in outreach activities in areas such as first-year student programming, suicide prevention/gatekeeper training, sexual assault prevention and response, and alcohol and other drug education/prevention.
Completed doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology and one year of pre-doctoral internship in a college or university counseling center.
Given the center’s focus on individual psychotherapy, a strong generalist is desired. The ability to provide compassionate and sensitive therapy while responding efficiently and effectively to emergent needs is strongly desired. Additionally, experience with eating disorders and/or substance abuse is a benefit but not required.
