The Trauma Research and Recovery Lab at the University of Memphis is seeking applications for a postdoctoral fellow position, for one year, with possible renewal for a second year. The applicant should have strong interest and training in mental health issues following trauma; experience with cognitive behavioral therapy, structured diagnostic assessment with adults, and intimate partner violence desirable. The aim of this position is to help a young scholar develop research expertise in interpersonal trauma, with implications for prevention and treatment. The fellow will work closely with Dr. Gayle Beck, with opportunities to develop related projects with other University of Memphis faculty (see: http://www.memphis.edu/psychology/). Clinical faculty expertise includes pain and chronic stress, minority health, and substance overuse; as well, the department includes a strong cognitive psychology program, with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration. Applicants should have a doctorate in clinical psychology, excellent writing skills, training in adult mental health assessment, and a desire for further research experience and training. Review of applications will begin December 1, 2011.
Start date: September 1, 2012 or negotiable. This is a one year appointment with renewal for a second year possible.
Benefits: Salary is $43,000 to $45,000. Health insurance, retirement and disability benefits, support for conference travel and sick leave are included.
