Nature of Work:

In affiliation with the UCCS Psychology Department, the Aging Center is seeking a Clinical Geropsychology Post-Doctoral Fellow for a full-time (1.0 FTE ) position to train to provide a broad range of psychological services to on-site senior and caregiver clients and in integrated care settings, including a primary care clinic. The Aging Center is a community-based mental health clinic for older adults and their families and a university psychology training clinic. The Aging Center serves more than 2,500 older adults annually through four core service centers: Memory and Cognitive Assessments, the Aging Family and Caregiver Program, Psychotherapy, and Clinicians in the Community integrated care programs.

Examples of Work Performed:

Direct services may include individual therapy for seniors, individual therapy for caregivers seen in our Aging Families and Caregiver Program, a weekly psychotherapy group, and consultation with clients, families, and other health care professionals. Community outreach is also an expectation through presentations, in-service seminars, health fair screening, and article submission for senior monthly publications. Additional opportunities are available for formal presentations to staff, students, other senior agencies and community members, didactic seminars, and case presentations. The postdoctoral fellow will receive the training and supervision required for licensure.
