The University of Montana Department of Psychology and Deer Lodge Medical Center, Deer Lodge, Montana seek applicants who want to be on the forefront of integrating behavioral health into multidisciplinary primary care—the wave of the future of mental health practice (e.g., Bray, 2010). This full time, permanent position will include post-doctoral supervision prior to licensure. The successful applicant will be part of an interdisciplinary team at DLMC, a Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic (RHC), providing mental health treatment, consultation, and assessment in collaboration with the RHC primary care providers and a post-graduate Social Worker using the patient centered medical home model.

Montana’s state prison is located in Deer Lodge and the state psychiatric hospital is a 15 minute drive to Warm Springs.
Applicants who have graduated with a PhD from an APA-accredited program in Clinical Psychology are eligible to apply for this position, which begins between July 1 and September 1 depending on internship schedule. The successful applicant will be working toward Montana licensure as a psychologist and will be required to obtain licensure within eighteen months. After licensure, and two years of full-time employment at Deer Lodge Medical Center, this employee will be eligible to apply for student loan repayment through the National Health Service Corps; recipients could receive up to $40,000 in loan repayment.
The team will consist of a post-doctoral Psychology Resident and a pre-licensure Masters in Social Work, who will work in concert with RHC primary care providers to develop and implement an integrated treatment program that includes behavioral health. Via distance learning and some in-person meetings, members will receive consultation and supervision from faculty and clinical staff at The University of Montana-Missoula, along with on-site supervision. The successful applicant will be someone able to function with some autonomy while utilizing and growing from the intensive tele-supervision and tele-consultation provided by The UM team. As employees of Deer Lodge Medical Center, the integrated team members will augment and extend mental health services available in the community and assist in providing continuity of care and wrap-around services to patients seen at the hospital. This is a full time, permanent position with a pre-licensure salary of $40,000, with full benefits including health insurance. We seek highly motivated, confident applicants.
