The Florida State University College of Medicine (FSUCOM) Isabel Collier Read Medical Campus is accepting applications for two-year postdoctoral fellowships in integrated behavioral health at the Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida (HNS) a teaching site for the FSUCOM .
We have new openings for two fellows. Start date August 2013 or January 2014 available.
The fellows will function as an integral part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team in primary Pediatrics, Family Medicine and Women’s Health clinics. Primary duties will include providing screenings and diagnostic evaluations, behavioral consultations and brief interventions with children, adults and families. The fellowship will consist of clinical activity, didactics, supervision & mentorship and research opportunity. Activities will allow for fulfillment of licensure requirement in the State of Florida.
The Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida (HCN) includes the Isabel Collier Read Medical Campus in Immokalee and primary care clinics in Naples. Fellows train at a Federally Qualified Health Center which serves as a training site for medical students, psychology postdoctoral fellows and other health trainees. The health center includes Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Adult Care, Dental, Obstetrics /Gynecology, and Behavior Health Services. Immokalee is a small rural community in southwest Florida and a designated Health Professions Shortage Area. The patient population is made up primarily of Latino migrant farm workers but also includes Haitian, African American and a rural Caucasian population. Fellows also see patients (urban underserved) at the Naples primary care clinics. Immokalee is situated approximately 30 minutes from Naples, an area known for its beaches and cultural activities.
Eligibility: Completion of an APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (Ph.D./Psy.D.) as well as an APA-accredited internship. Candidate should be fluent in Spanish and be committed to serving an underserved population consistent with the mission of the Florida State University College of Medicine to train providers for underserved populations.
