Postdoc Description
The Social Behavior and Decisions Lab at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for a research-focused postdoctoral Research Associate. The successful candidate will work on investigating processes related to goal conflict and decision making. The position, which has connections to the Department of Psychology and to the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, would provide opportunities for developing an individual program of research, as well as collaboration on externally funded research projects, and studies related to goal conflict and decision making. The successful candidate will conduct data analysis, prepare publications, manage components of ongoing studies, participate in writing grants, design new studies, and serve as a collaborative member of a team of research scientists across multiple, complex projects.

This is a one year appointment; however appointments may be renewed for an additional two, one-year increments, contingent upon available funding and satisfactory performance.

A Ph.D. in psychology or organizational behavior/management is required.

The ideal candidate will have research experience in areas of psychology related to self-regulation, social judgment, and/or decision making. Additionally, strong quantitative skills are desired.
