The Anxiety Disorders Center/Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ADC/CCBT; David F. Tolin, Ph.D., director) at the Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship beginning in September 2013. The ADC/CCBT specializes in cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety-related problems, and applied research on the nature and treatment of anxiety. In addition, we are developing new programs for the treatment of depression, insomnia, adult ADHD, and other conditions.
This fellowship, which is part of the APA-accredited postdoctoral residency program at the Institute of Living, is based on the Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology specialty (see http://www.apa.org/ed/graduate/specialize/behav.aspx) and follows the scientist-practitioner model of training.
The fellow will provide assessment and outpatient cognitive-behavioral therapy for adults, adolescents, and children in the outpatient clinic, including intensive (daily) behavior therapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, school refusal behavior, phobias, depression, and other problems. Numerous opportunities exist for independent basic or applied research as well, including involvement in NIMH-funded studies.
