Postdoc Description
Kennedy Krieger Institute is an internationally recognized institution located in Baltimore, MD dedicated to improving the lives of children and adolescents with disorders of the brain, spinal cord and musculoskeletal system through patient care, special education, research and professional training.

The Department of Neuropsychology and the Center for Autism and Related Disorders at the Kennedy Krieger Institute announce one opening for a two-year postdoctoral residency in Clinical Child Psychology/Neurodevelopmental Disabilities designed to provide supervised experiences in psychological assessment, diagnostic evaluation, treatment and consultation, and to prepare residents to become leaders in the field of neurodevelopmental disabilities.

Training begins September 1, 2013. Supervised experiences include assessments of children from infancy through young adulthood who present with a wide range of complex problems, including autism, neurodevelopmental disabilities, ADHD, learning issues and social-emotional disorders. Intervention experiences include individual, group and family therapy with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders. Didactics include seminars in autism and other developmental disabilities, neuropsychology and professional development in psychology.

Multiple opportunities for adjunctive training in intervention, assessment, research and public policy/educational law are offered.

Only graduates of APA/CPA-accredited doctoral programs and APA/CPA-accredited pre-doctoral internships will be considered. Candidates must have completed all requirements for their doctoral degree prior to beginning the residency program. Minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. The current stipend for first-year residents (PGYI) is $39,264, which includes eight holidays, two weeks of vacation and one week of professional/conference time per year. Health insurance is available. Residents receive appointments through the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
