Multimodal Neuroimaging Postdoctoral Research Fellow
The position: A postdoctoral position is available at the Laureate Institute for Brain Research ( LIBR ) for the development and application of advanced brain neuroimaging methods. In a collaborative effort with a local university we are using a Multimodal MRI (e.g. BOLD activation, resting connectivity, DTI ,) approach combined with biological markers to both better understand the neural substrates of trust in a cyber environment and to develop a biomarker of trust propensity. Individuals with interests in multivariate fMRI methods, cognitive neuroscience of trust, and/or graph theory are especially encouraged to apply. The position offers excellent training in all aspects of functional and anatomical MRI and MR physics in a highly interactive research environment. This position is a three-year Air Force funded position at a dedicated psychiatric research institute.
LIBR , located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a privately founded non-profit clinical neuroscience research institute that recognizes the dignity of each person and leverages leading talent and technology to discover causes and cures for a major neuropsychiatric disorders. The major tools that LIBR researchers utilize in conducting this research include multimodal neuroimaging, genetics, novel therapeutics, and bioinformatics technologies.
A successful candidate will have access to a state-of-the-art neuroimaging environment devoted only to research. The equipment consists of a GE Discover MR750 3 Tesla MRI human scanner equipped with a custom-developed real-time fMRI system allowing neurofeedback and with a wide selection of receive-only coil arrays for imaging the human brain and spinal cord as well as the latest high-density 128-channel Brain Products MRI -compatible EEG system, which allow for advanced multimodal simultaneous fMRI and EEG imaging. A large selection of an auxiliary equipment and software for providing multi-sensory fMRI stimulus delivery and collecting subject response is available.
Qualification: Ph.D. is required. Applicants will be expected to contribute to: methods development, fMRI data collection and analysis, development of research protocols, grant applications, scientific manuscripts writing, and presentation of findings at scientific meetings. Applicants should be very familiar with UNIX /Linux environments, stimulus presentation software and have experience in fMRI. Knowledge of multivariate statistical analyses is not required but would be a plus.
Salary/Benefits: This is a full-time three-year externally funded position. Salary will be commensurate with the experience of the candidate. A full benefits package is available.
How to apply: Interested candidates should provide a CV, statement of research background and interests, 3 letters of recommendation (ideally from non-collaborators), and a copy of doctoral degree. Send application materials to:
