Post-doctoral Fellow Position is available for a highly motivated, creative, outstanding individual interested in neuroscience and the effect of aging on brain function.
The incumbent will become part of a team to assess mechanisms for the decline in cognitive function during normal aging or in neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer’s disease. The position is in the laboratory of Dr. Ferenc Deak (Reynolds Oklahoma Center on Aging, Department of Geriatric Medicine, OUHSC), who has a long-standing interest in understanding the molecular regulation of synaptic neurotransmission. Currently special interest is on the effect of aging and growth factors on brain and cognitive function. On-going studies include live fluorescence imaging of synaptic release, long-term potentiation and whole cell patch clamp recordings of neuronal activity in a variety of transgenic mouse models.
