STRONG STAR fellows work some of the largest research studies and clinical trials in the nation designed to evaluate the use of evidence-based therapies for PTSD and related conditions. Our fellows provide evidence-based therapy to active duty military service members in each of the following studies:

Fellows receive training and on-going weekly supervision in evidence-based PTSD therapies. High quality training and supervision is also provided in assessment. Fellows also attend a weekly didactic seminar.

In addition to their clinical roles, our fellows have published articles in high quality, peer reviewed journals, co-written book chapters, and presented research at national conferences. Other achievements by Strong Star fellows include being awarded student loan repayment through the NIH.

Additionally, our fellows receive a competitive salary ($42,500 per year plus funding to attend a licensure review course) and exceptional health care and retirement benefits.

STRONG STAR fellows work for the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. They support STRONG STAR studies at Fort Hood, an hour from Austin, TX and in San Antonio, TX.
