The Department of Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, associated with the USC Keck School of Medicine, and the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities seeks applicants interested in clinical opportunities to specialize in the following emphasis areas:
1. Adolescent Medicine.
2. Child &Family Therapy
3. Early Childhood Mental Health
4. Pediatric Psychology
5. Trauma Psychology
6. A special Autism Fellowship Team training opportunity is also available as part of one of the above fellowships(please see fellowship brochure)
The Postdoctoral fellowship is APA accredited. Postdoctoral fellows serve children, adolescents, and families, in an interdisciplinary setting. Depending on the emphasis area, fellowship activities may include psychotherapy, assessment, consultation/liaison, and research/program development. Candidates must have completed a doctoral degree in clinical, school or counseling psychology from an APA accredited graduate program, and an APA accredited predoctoral internship working with children/adolescents by August 2013.
Openings: Pending budgetary approval the department anticipates ten two-year fellowship positions. Specific information about specific fellowship tracks is available on our website at: www.uscuceddtraining.net
Stipends: Current stipends are $31,200 for 1st year and $39,790 for 2nd year including benefits (vacation, sick leave, free health benefits to fellow and immediate dependents, free dental plan for fellow and immediate dependents, and life insurance to the fellow at no cost). An additional licensure differential (monthly) is available to licensed second year fellows.
Deadline: The program will start reviewing applications, and inviting applicants for interviews starting on January 18th 2013. Application will be accepted until vacancies are filled. Fellowship to begin September 1, 2012.
Application Information: Candidates should submit a letter of interest stating their CHLA postdoctoral specialty interest and long-term career goals in that area, a curriculum vita, three letters of recommendation (one from predoctoral internship), official graduate studies transcripts, and a sample child/adolescent psychoeducational/cognitive assessment report.
