A 3 year postdoctoral position is available in the Salvi lab in the Center for Hearing and Deafness to conduct neurophysiological studies of the auditory system in rodents. Applicant will be responsible for making electrophysiological recordings from both the central and/or peripheral auditory system of rodents, surgically implanting chronic electrodes, harvesting brain tissue and applying drugs locally or systemically. The ideal candidate will have experience with electrophysiological recording techniques, chronic electrode implantation, neuroanatomy, and computer programming (e.g., MatLab). Applicant will conduct electrophysiological studies in rodents with noise or drug induced hearing loss and tinnitus, analyze results, and prepare manuscripts for publication.
