Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Research

The Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience (SCAN) Laboratory at McLean Hospital, a Teaching Affiliate of Harvard Medical School, has an immediate opening for a clinical research post-doctoral fellowship position. Our laboratory is currently funded to conduct several basic science and clinical treatment studies of depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and traumatic brain injury. We use traditional psychosocial research methods (e.g., self-report, behavioral tasks), as well as a variety of magnetic resonance imaging techniques to study the underlying pathophysiology of these conditions. Preference will be given to candidates with strong interest and experience in the assessment and treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, including cognitive behavioral therapy. Desirable candidates must demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, along with excellent quantitative, clinical (e.g., diagnostic assessments) and interpersonal skills. Demonstrable excellence in written English is also critical.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on all funded studies within our lab, in particular a functional MRI study of internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT) and a magnetic resonance spectroscopy study of post-traumatic stress disorder. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to receive in-depth training in neuroimaging methods, and to submit manuscripts for publication from several existing datasets. A Ph.D. in clinical psychology or closely related discipline is required.
