DREXEL UNIVERSITY in Philadelphia. The Dept. of Psychology is seeking a Ph.D.-level clinical psychologist for a 3-year appointment as research assistant professor to work in the lab of Dr. Michael Lowe. Starting date is between Jan. and Sept., 2013.
The successful candidate will join a research team that is part of Drexel’s APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology [http://drexel.edu/psychology/academics/graduate/clinical/] and will participate in NIH-funded research in the areas of obesity and eating disorders [www.lowelabs.com]. Job responsibilities include directing a new, NIMH-funded grant on the biological and behavioral correlates of dieting in bulimia nervosa, helping with data analysis and manuscript preparation for an ongoing NIDDK-funded study on the role of nutritional interventions in weight loss maintenance, and collaborating on grant applications and on various studies related to eating disorders and/or obesity. The hired individual will also be encouraged to apply (in areas related to either obesity or eating disorders) for new investigator or K awards that could extend the position beyond 3 years. Excellent quantitative skills, interest in human nutrition and/or in neuroimaging are desirable. Opportunities for teaching and supervised clinical experience toward licensure will be available.
