An NIH-funded position is available for a post-doctoral fellow to study novel genetic therapies for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. The ideal candidate will have experience in more than one of the following areas: molecular biology, neurohistology/immunohistochemistry, unbiased stereology, and complex behavioral analysis in mice. Techniques include PCR, western, ELISA, qPCR, stereotactic surgery, genomics, PICUP, immunohistochemistry, light/confocal microscopy, electron microscopy, stereology, the experimental analysis of behavior, and others. Must be a self-motivated team player, well-organized, and with strong communication skills (writing and speaking).

Located in Memphis, TN, UTHSC is the third-largest medical center in the country and a leader in Neuroscience research, with well-funded and equipped facilities in the Departments of Neurology and Anatomy & Neurobiology, the Neuroscience Institute, and the Neuroscience Center of Excellence.
