The Center for the Study of Democratic Politics (CSDP), a program in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, invites applications for a postdoctoral research position from individuals with recent PhD degrees.

The individual will be asked to participate in projects studying the role of political and electoral institutions. The researcher will work on a variety of projects, which may include research on electoral business cycles, state and federal judicial politics, legislative behavior, and presidential policy making.

The position is offered for one year, with the possibility of a second year appointment, contingent upon funding and satisfactory performance. The official title of the position is "CSDP Postdoctoral Research Associate."

Essential Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a PhD and a strong background in quantitative research, and knowledge of research on political institutions. Strong communication skills, including programming in STATA and other statistical packages, and experience compiling and manipulating large data sets are highly desirable. The candidate should also be well organized, flexible, attend to detail, and respond to deadlines in a timely fashion.
