POSTDOC POSITION IN BEHAVIORAL PHARMACOLOGY
Davidson, North Carolina, United States
Davidson College
rolling
The Behavioral Pharmacology Laboratory at Davidson College invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the Department of Psychology. The successful applicant will join an NIH-funded laboratory examining behavioral and pharmacological factors contributing to substance abuse and dependence using animal models (e.g., drug discrimination, drug self-administration). Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree in pharmacology, neuroscience, or psychology, and experience with animal models of behavior. Ideal candidates will have a background in the experimental analysis of behavior with basic expertise in neuroscience and pharmacology. The person accepting this position will play a strong role in overseeing two large NIH-funded projects, and typical activities will include (but will not be limited to), collecting data, writing manuscripts, presenting data at scientific conferences, and preparing extramural grants. Teaching will be an option for those with interest, but it is not a requirement of the position. Because the individual will be working with a diverse research team that includes undergraduate students, candidates with experience with undergraduate populations through teaching or supervising research projects will be especially desirable. Salary will be competitive. Interested candidates should send their current CV and arrange to have three letters of reference sent electronically to Mark Smith at masmith@davidson.edu
