In affiliation with the UCCS Psychology Department, the CU Aging Center (CUAC) the Clinical Geropsychology Postdoctoral PRA is a full-time position to train to provide a broad range of psychological services to on-site senior and caregiver clients and in integrated care settings, including a primary care clinic. The training position includes 30 hours of direct services per week with an additional 10 hours allocated for paperwork, supervision, training, and staff meetings. The CUAC is a community-based mental health clinic for older adults and their families and a university psychology training clinic. The CUAC serves more than 2,500 older adults annually through four core service centers: Memory and Cognitive Assessments, the Aging Family and Caregiver Program, Psychotherapy, and Clinicians in the Community integrated care programs.

Direct services will include individual therapy for seniors, individual therapy for caregivers seen in our Aging Families and Caregiver Program, a small psychotherapy group, consultation with clients, families, and other health care professionals, and neuropsychological evaluations. In the integrated primary care setting, training focuses on direct services specific to that setting including co-visits and consultations with primary care providers, on-site brief therapy, psychological and cognitive screening, telephone follow up, case conferencing, and care planning with the integrated health care team.

The postdoc will participate in weekly clinical supervision, in monthly CU Aging Center staff meetings, and in the weekly Caregiver Program team meeting. Community outreach is also an expectation through presentations, in-service seminars, health fair screening, and article submission for senior monthly publications. Additional opportunities are available for formal presentations to staff, students, other senior agencies and community members, didactic seminars, and case presentations. The postdoctoral fellow will work toward licensure and receive needed supervision hours and training.
