The Center for Spoken Language Understanding (CSLU) at Oregon Health & Science University is seeking applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. CSLU is an interdisciplinary research center that brings together faculty from Psychology, Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, and Engineering to conduct basic and applied health-related research.This postdoctoral position involves collaboration with Dr. Alison Presmanes Hill, a developmental psychologist, on innovative research combining sensor-based technology and observational measures of infant and caregiver behaviors during the first two years of life. The postdoctoral fellow will assist with the design, collection, coding, and analysis of data for two related studies examining social engagement and motor development in infants at high and low-risk for autism.

The ideal candidate is also expected to participate in co-authorship of manuscripts for publication in relevant peer-reviewed scientific journals based on already collected data on a breadth of topics in collaboration with Drs. Hill and van Santen (mathematical psychologist, professor and director of CSLU). Topics may include narrative discourse, affect expression, gestural development, and motor and praxis abilities, for example. In addition, the fellow will contribute to the submission of future grant applications, which may extend the duration of funding if desired.

The fellow†s research tasks would further include project management responsibilities and direct supervision of research assistants as well as undergraduate students involved in the coding of data. Please note that this position is located in Beaverton, OR.
