We are recruiting a Post-Doctoral Associate to begin Fall 2012 (start date flexible), to join a research lab at the University of Minnesota, Center for Early Education and Development. The postdoctoral associate will contribute to research focused on number and mathematics skills in early childhood (preschool to primary school);and will participate in research with typically developing children and children at risk for poor math achievement outcomes, including but not limited to children with dyscalculia, children with Turner syndrome, and other high risk populations. The position also involves secondary data analysis from a completed longitudinal study of mathematics skills and difficulties spanning grades K to 9. Primary responsibilities include involvement in the design and implementation of pilot and new original research; data collection, management, and analysis; dissemination of findings through conference presentations and publications; involvement in grant application preparation and submission; and supervision of research assistants.
Doctoral training in developmental psychology or a related area is required, as is direct research experience and knowledge of research design and data analysis. Experience working with young children and/or school based research and evidence of contributions to scholarly publication are preferred.
