This program is designed to provide clinical and research training to develop advanced competencies in this specialty area of pediatric psychology, intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and related disorders at Nationwide Children's Hospital's Child Development Center. IDD Fellows are trained to diagnose neurodevelopmental disabilities and to address the treatment needs of children and their families, with an emphasis on behavioral and physiological frameworks of understanding and interventions. Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) and its Close-to-Home Guidance centers provide the majority of pediatric and pediatric behavioral health care services and training opportunities in Central Ohio and serve a population area of over 3 million. Close working relationships with pediatric physician colleagues and other researchers are well established and allow for clinical and research training in a number of areas. Stipend is in the mid 30s p/a and there is a full benefit package. The Department of Psychology at NCH currently has 13 full time faculty and the Child Development Center currently has 8 full time psychology faculty, three postdoctoral training positions, and three APA approved psychology intern positions, and houses the Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders-an intensive behavioral intervention program.
