These positions afford the postdoctoral scholars the opportunity to work as junior clinicians in a dynamic urban, university counseling center that uses a holistic wellness model in serving students. Under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, scholars will provide individual, couples, and group therapy from a brief therapy model, conduct intake evaluations, crisis assessment and intervention, and provide outreach programs and consultation to the campus community. Scholars will have an opportunity to select a concentration based on their interests.
The scholars will attend regularly scheduled clinical assessment team meetings for disposition and peer supervision as well as weekly staff meetings. There are opportunities to provide clinical training to practicum-level students. The scholars will receive weekly individual supervision from a licensed psychologist in accordance with Nevada state licensure requirements for postdoctoral hours.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have completed a doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an accredited college or university and completed an APA accredited, pre-doctoral internship. Candidates should be knowledgeable of college student development, interested in working with a diverse university population, and experienced with crisis assessment and intervention. Employment will be contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
SALARY RANGE
The salary is $30,663 for the 12-month appointment. University benefits include health insurance, 11 paid holidays, paid sick and vacation days, and malpractice insurance.
