Looking for Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Cognitive Neuroscience

Dr. Sian Beilock in the Department of Psychology at the University of Chicago is seeking to make one full-time Post-Doctoral appointment. This research-oriented position will focus on the cognitive and neural bases of skill learning and performance in healthy individuals, with special emphasis on understanding how high-stress and emotion-laden situations impact executive functioning and – ultimately - performance in academic subjects such as math. The research will combine a variety of measures including fMRI, behavioral measures, and physiological measures of stress. There will be opportunities to work across both laboratory and classroom settings and with both children and adults. Requirements include a Ph.D. in cognitive science, neuroscience, psychology or education and previous fMRI experience. Responsibilities include experiment design, training and supervising of research assistants, running of experiments in the fMRI scanner, data collection, analysis of fMRI and other data, grant and manuscript preparation. Salary is in accordance with NIH standards. Start date is Summer, 2012.
