Postdoctoral Fellow

General Overview:

Our lab uses functional and structural neuroimaging to investigate the neural mechanisms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We are currently looking for a postdoctoral fellow to join our team. The appointment will be for one year with a possibility for extension based on performance and the availability of funding.

Requirements:

The position requires a Ph.D. degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field, as well as experience in the acquisition and analysis of fMRI data using SPM. Experience with analyzing diffusion tensor imaging and/or magnetic resonance spectroscopy data would be beneficial, although not required. This position requires a candidate who is organized, attentive to detail, responsible and able to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks.

The postdoctoral fellow will analyze data and write corresponding manuscripts related to a large PTSD twin study designed to determine whether functional brain abnormalities are acquired characteristics of PTSD or familial vulnerability factors that increase risk for PTSD. This research is supported by NIH and will be conducted under the training and supervision of Dr. Lisa Shin and her Co-Investigators at MGH.
