The Construction of a Scientific Diagnostic Manual

The construction of DSM-V is currently in progress. This paper will provide a brief overview of the construction of prior versions of the diagnostic manual. Particular attention will be given to lessons learned from DSM-IV. Dr. Widiger will then discuss the problems and issues with the construction of DSM-V.
