Gene-Environment Interplay in the Development of Psychopathology and Resilience
| Chair:
Julia Kim-Cohen
Yale University |
Gene-environment interactions predict which individuals may be most vulnerable to the effects of adversity, but also predict which individuals escape relatively unscathed and show resilience. This presentation covers the potential that gene-by-environment research holds for understanding biological and social mechanisms by which some people develop adaptively despite adversity.
