Emotion Regulation as We Grow Older: Gains and Costs

Despite research demonstrating cognitive decline in older adulthood, changes in emotion show a positive developmental trajectory. This talk will address two questions. What are the skills, motivational preferences, and knowledge older adults use to regulate emotions? Under what conditions are older adults more effective and least effective at emotion regulation?
