Performance and Learning in Challenging Situations: Why Mindset Matters

Students' beliefs and goals can greatly impact their ability to learn and achieve. Here, I will discuss cognitive neuroscience data demonstrating how students' mindsets may impact their responses to feedback in challenging achievement situations (including when stereotype threat is salient) and the consequences of these responses on rebound from failure.
