Learning From Errors by Individuals and Organizations

Chair: Michael Frese  [Email Presenter]
University of Giessen and London Business School

Error management training provides minimal information for task completion and instructions reframing errors as learning opportunities. This training leads to better performance than does avoiding errors. These conditions enhance the effectiveness of error management training: metacognitive activity; emotional coping, good feedback. Also, error management culture is related to higher profitability of firms.
