Emotional and Cognitive Mechanisms in the Treatment of Mood and Anxiety Disorders: From Psychotherapy to Brain Training

Saturday, May 24, 2014, 3:10 PM - 3:45 PM
Imperial Ballroom B

Mood and anxiety disorders are characterized by exaggerated emotional reactivity, impoverished executive control, and poor emotion regulation. I will report on two avenues for understanding and remediating these deficits: an established psychotherapeutic intervention, and an emerging approach for remediation of emotion regulation through an internet-delivered “brain training” neuroplasticity-based neurobehavioral intervention.

This is part of the Changing Neurobiology with Behavior Neurobiological Consequences of Behavior Theme Program.
