Giving Psychological Science Away: Writing for the Public Rather Than for Your Colleagues

Thursday, May 22, 2014, 12:30 PM - 2:20 PM
Powell Room A-B

Christopher F. Chabris Chair: Christopher F. Chabris
Union College

Writing for the public is different and harder than writing for colleagues. We will discuss how the two forms differ, and give specific practical information and advice for anyone who wants to broaden their influence and the audiences they engage through their writing. Participants will develop ideas for popular media articles and write pitches for their ideas.

There is no fee for this workshop. Separate registration is required for Workshops, and is open to Convention and/or Teaching Institute registrants only. Workshops are included in the online registration form. If you've already registered and want to add a workshop, please email or call 202-293-9300.

Christopher F. Chabris will sign copies of his book, The Invisible Gorilla: How Our Intuitions Deceive Us, immediately following this workshop.
