Do Hopelessness, Motivation, and External Pressure Predict Positive Drug Treatment Outcomes?

Results from analysis of data from 351 drug users indicated that participants court–ordered into treatment were more likely to have positive treatment outcomes than those internally motivated to enter drug treatment. For those internally motivated to enter treatment, low levels of hopelessness were predictive of positive treatment outcome.
