Differences in Skin Conductance, Heart Rate, and Age Predict Sadness Recognition Accuracy

We examined whether age differences in emotion recognition are related to arousal, as indexed by skin conductance level and heart rate. We found that differences in both arousal measures were related to sad recognition accuracy. However, these arousal differences did not account for age differences in recognition.
