Memory for Future Gambling Wins

Gambling problems are proposed to develop in part via unfounded subjective beliefs and false ‘memories’ for future gambling outcomes. Non-problems gamblers describing prior big-win experiences showed elevated belief and memory ratings for future wins than future losses and exhibited higher problem gambling risk, relative to non-problem gamblers without prior big-wins.
