The Nocturnal Return of Neglected Regrets: Affect Anticipation Deficits and Disturbed Sleep

A questionnaire study with young adults investigated the links between deficits in regret anticipation, frequency of regrets at bedtime, and insomnia severity. Results revealed that individuals with difficulties in anticipating regrets are prone to experience regrets at bedtime and that this nocturnal rise of regrets interferes with sleep.
