Predictors of Shyness: the Role of Facial Expression Recognition

This study examined the relationship between facial expression recognition and shyness. Three factors were examined: accuracy, ratings of facial intensity, and the direction of interpretation errors. The participants’ ability to recognize expressions of emotion accounted for a small but significant amount of the variance in the construct of shyness.
