While shadowing textbook passages, musicians and non-musicians heard instrumental music, vocal music, and prose presented in the unattended ear. Results demonstrated significant right ear advantages for both groups, but no differences in shadowing accuracy between them. Additionally, a trend for the vocal condition resulting in more shadowing errors was found.
