Participants prepared for a vocabulary test using the “Rock-the-SAT” vocabulary based songs and study guide in a 2 x 2 (study guide/no guide x songs/no songs) factorial study. Test scores were highest among those who used the study guide, but surprisingly, using the songs along with the study guide produced slightly lower test scores.
