Abstract

Dr. Sokal recently served as inaugural editor of the journal History of Psychology (1997-2005) and as President of the History of Science Society (2004 – 2005). He is best known for his scholarly work on James McKeen Cattell and turn-of-the-century psychology. Today’s address will explore factors shaping early U.S. experimental psychology.
