Teaching About Diversity: The Need for Theory-Driven Research

Most scholarship on the effectiveness of teaching about diversity in psychology courses is atheoretical, descriptive, and deals with global outcomes, like raising students’ awareness of oppression. I will discuss the implications of such practices and suggest potential theory bases and research methods that might improve this state of affairs.
