Medication compliance is problematic particularly for those with cognitive/mental-health issues. Electronic medication dispensers were preprogrammed to dispense medication following each participant’s schedule. Nurses were alerted when medication was not taken within 30 minutes. Medication compliance rates were 72%, as opposed to previous estimates of 50%, demonstrating the usefulness of telemedicine technology.
