Date/Time/Location:
Subject Area(s): Primary: General
Author: Cheryl A. Stayer Psi Chi National Office
Co-Author: Anntionette Lobaito Oakland University
Abstract:

The study examined how majoring in psychology affects parenting attitudes. The Adult-Adolescent Parenting Inventory, which assesses abuse-related attitudes, was given to freshman and senior psychology majors to examine hypothesized differences. Senior non-psychology majors were also measured to determine if possible effects were due to obtaining a college education in general.
