Abstract:
Eighty-nine undergraduates completed three group-administered tasks: operation span, lag task, and digit span. Lag task performance had a significant relationship with operation span performance, but not with digit span performance. The lag task thus appears to be a good measure of working memory rather than of short-term memory.
