Abstract:
This workshop will demystify the research grant process from application development to the management of your first grant. Topics to be covered include indentifying public and private funding sources, writing applications, and managing research grants. Participants may submit, if they wish, a draft of a research grant abstract (only) for review and development at this workshop (see the National Institutes of Health application kit at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/phs398/fp2.pdf ). Experts from academia and from Federal funding agencies will discuss tricks-of-the-trade, the reviewers' role, and building a soft-money research program, and will provide feedback and consultation to attendees.
