Pre- and Post-Doctoral Fellowships in Health Services Research

Description:

Pre-Doctoral Fellowships include tuition and fees, plus an annual stipend of $15,060 per year, and $1000 for conference travel expenses.

Post-Doctoral Fellowships include tuition and fees, as well as an annual stipend ranging from $26,926 to $42,300 per year, and $1000 for conference travel expenses

Eligibility:

Pre-Doctoral Fellowship: students must be pursing, or admitted to a Ph.D. degree program in one of the three departments at UCLA: Health Services, Epidemiology, or Sociology. Fellows must apply separately to the degree program of choice.

Post-Doctoral Fellowship: prospective candidates must have obtained a Ph.D., medical degree, or other professional doctoral degree.

* Applicants must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents.

Description:

Budget of up to $5,000 to cover the costs of conducting the research (e.g., research assistance, duplicating, payments to subjects, and the like); up to half of this may be used as a stipend.

Eligibility:

Any student currently enrolled in a doctoral program is eligible to apply. Dissertation proposals must be approved by an advisor or committee before the grant application is submitted.

Radcliffe Postdoctoral Research Support Program: Adolescent and Youth Research Award

Description:

Grants up to $5,000 to doctoral students.

Eligibility:

Proposals should focus on youth or adolescent development. Projects drawing on the center's data will be given priority, although use of the center's resources is not a requirement.

Description:

Grants are small (averaging $2,000-$3,000) and are meant to be supplementary.

Eligibility:

Open to all in the United States. While the Fund does not emphasize any particular form of religious practice or worship, it seeks to provide support to persons motivated by spiritual values. Preference will be given to those who can satisfy high scholastic requirements and are considering careers in education.

Description:

A stipend of $20,000 is awarded to support completion of the dissertation. This amount must be expended within a time limit of 1-2 years. It is assumed that recipients are responsible for their own tuition and fees. Approximately thirty fellowships are awarded each year.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be candidates for a Ph.D. or Ed.D degree at a graduate school in the United States; however, applicants need not be citizens of the U.S. Candidates must have completed all predissertation requirements by June 1 of the granting year.
